Complaints digestive have become a common issue for many Americans these days, children and adults of all backgrounds suffer the consequences of our fast-paced world and need instant gratification. Our body can and will be assimilate these types of foods. Natural foods are also digested and disposed more easily and more quickly, which is crucial for a healthy digestive tract. To achieve and maintain a healthy digestive system, it is imperative to restrict refined carbohydrates (white flour and sugar). As is adding protein diet and fat quality in the diet.


A healthy and balanced diet (proteins, fats and carbohydrates) can lower costs and help reduce the cravings of processed foods and optimal digestive health. Once a person understands what are healthy foods, their preparation is simple and does not take much time.
Kitchen spices used in home cooked meals are a great and easy way to help prevent and mitigate digestive problems. There are many herbs and spices that can prevent and relieve gas. Apart from giving the flavour of food, the following is a list of some of the most common spices and their role in digestive health:


Basil - great for indigestion
Laurel leaves - great for indigestion
Black pepper - stimulates digestion
Caraway - indigestion/gas.
Cardamom - indigestion/gas.
Cayenne - for indigestion
Chives - help digest-rich foods
Cinnamon - promote digestion
Clove nails - for digestion/flatulence
Fennel - used to treat the gas
Garlic - improves / cleans the digestion
Gentian - increases digestion
Ginger - excellent for indigestion
Horseradish - stimulates digestion
Marjoram - for stomach ailments
Mustard seed - mild laxative
Rosemary - indigestion/gas.
Sage - helps fat meat digest
Turmeric - increases bile flow


These more numerous herbs can be used in teas, purchased in form of capsules or dye and used in recipes. The following recipe was taken from recipes for dynamic health herbal by Rosemary Gladstar (2008). It is useful to reduce gas and bloating. The recipe does not exact measures; You can consider mixing in equal parts of the following:


· Seeds of anise
· Cardamom seeds
· Seeds of cumin
· Dill seeds
· Fennel seeds


Gladstar recommends chewing in and between meals. A teaspoon can be much for some. Starting with a small amount you will give a better idea on your personal recommended dose. If no bloating or gas relief is obtained, you can consider taking more next time. In addition, your dose may depend on the types of foods consumed.
